Mixing concrete planes with steel members, stucco, ipe and a glass circulation volume, the Drexel House answers to its street context in Highland Village and to the needs of the family. The house’s U-shaped massing allows for indoor-outdoor gathering spaces on the first floor surrounding the lap pool including kitchens, living rooms and a double height dining room accented by a custom glass wine cabinet. A music nook for a piano, drums and violin is tucked into the open staircase and is complemented by an office and first floor guest suite. The upper floors include a family room with a yoga terrace, secondary bedrooms and the master suite with a private balcony.
