Lake Livingston

The Loch-Trot House is located on several acres perched above the Trinity River that forms Lake Livingstone. The striking gabled form follows the topography of the site in order to minimize the foundation exposure and take advantage of the views beneath the branches of mature pine trees. A screened porch for entertaining, bisects the plan creating a dogtrot style breezeway and separates the main house from the guest suites. Designed as the final house for its Scottish owners, accessibility and ease of maintenance were paramount in the single-story design that incorporates stone masonry and modified wood siding under a standing seam metal roof.
